Questions about therapy may keep you from coming. Worry about what you would discuss could make you more anxious. Dealing with the unknown… can be plain old scary. Answering some of these frequently asked questions I hope will ease your struggles and get you motivated to take that next right step.

Absolutely, but I would start with the question of “Do you believe you have OCD?”  When starting therapy for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, we’ll explore the anxiety driving your actions and belief systems behind them.  If you are in fact diagnosed with OCD, the key is determining why this comforting response is necessary for you.

On a beautiful sunlit pond, Leslie Tourish responds to the question What can I expect from my first therapy session with you? The answer is I'll meet you where you are and we'll join in a place of getting to know one another. Text to the right expands on this answer.

Embracing the thought of beginning therapy may be overwhelming for you and my goal is to make the process as easy as possible. We’re going to start by me meeting you where you are… whether you’re timid or arriving to therapy with a task list of things you want to address. Finding safety and security in our place of meeting is important, as well as building trust between us. Let’s get to know one another and then growth is on the horizon.

LPC stands for Licensed Professional Counselor (in other states you may see “licensed clinical mental health counselor” or “licensed clinical professional counselor”), which means I’ve completed my master’s-level in mental healthcare. Our training enables us to work with individuals, families, and groups in treating a variety of emotional concerns, including mental health and behavioral conditions.

This is truly the most frequently asked question I receive from those seeking healing psychotherapy in Dripping Springs. The answer is really two-fold. Are you prepared to do the work necessary and how ready are you to disclose and explore the aspects of your life making you stuck? From there, we work through opportunities with you being the guide. And when you feel the necessary control in your life, you’re likely ready to lead your life without therapy or occasional touch points.

On a golden background with flowers sunlit, Leslie Tourish responds to the question I would like to leave you a review, but I don't want to disclose my name. What do I do? Leslie responds: Being a therapist, it's a happy moment when a client is able to confidently stand on their own two feet. Send me a private email!. Text to the right expands on this answer.

Thank you for the consideration of thinking about leaving a review. While sharing a successful therapeutic relationship can be beneficial for many, it can feel like an invasion of privacy as well. Google, Facebook, and other platforms don’t allow hidden reviews because it can lead to fraud. But, you asking this question or even sending a private email to me means the world. Being a therapist, it’s a happy moment when a client is able to confidently stand on their own two feet.
